01 / Responsibility

Our role

Password Technologies was responsible for requirements interpretation, application architecture, development, testing, deployment and technical handover of the Kiribati GHG Inventory System.

02 / Context

The challenge

A national greenhouse-gas inventory requires structured collection, calculation, validation, QA/QC, review, approval and publication across sectors and inventory years. The challenge was to translate complex inventory methodology into a maintainable operational system.

03 / Platform

What we delivered

A web-based inventory platform brings together Energy, Transport, Waste, AFOLU and IPPU workflows. The Stationary Energy entry screen groups activity inputs by IPCC category, fuel and unit, with reporting-year context and row status.

04 / Methodology

Inventory-year methodology

Methodology assignments connect each inventory year to its GWP reference. The interface lists AR4, AR5 and AR6, with AR5 assigned to 2019 and AR6 to 2026. Each year has a visible lock status, alongside guidance on methodology changes and calculations.

05 / Governance

Governance and controlled change

Reporting-year packages have a workflow state and revision history. The Stationary Energy package shown is marked Approved and Locked, with four recorded revisions, bringing the package state and its revision sequence into one view.

06 / Publication

Publication workflow

Publication readiness is organised by reporting year and sector, with workflow and indicator status alongside release states. The view distinguishes first publication, changed releases, current releases and incomplete checks, and displays publication metadata.

07 / Delivery

The deployed system

A hosted deployment provides a publicly accessible national dashboard and Energy, IPPU, AFOLU and Waste views, with reporting-year selection, charts and a reporting table.
